Herbal formulations are customized with your specific needs in mind addressing root causes of your concerns. Herbs function synergistically to treat dis-ease in the body and promote health. Two key characteristics in herbal therapy are taste and temperature. The taste refers to the perception of the herb in the mouth and the temperature describes the sensation of the herb in the stomach or on the skin. The properties of herbs provide its uniqueness and the effect it will have on the body.

For example: Gan Cao (Licorice Root) has a sweet taste and neutral temperature in its unprepared form. The taste and temperature of Gan Cao changes to sweet and warm when it is dry-fried. Gan Cao travels to all aspects of the body chiefly the Heart, Lung, Spleen and Stomach. Gan Cao is known for its tonifying properties providing soothing energy to the spleen, it moistens the lungs, moderates, harmonizes and drains fire.
MOXIBUSTION, CUPPING & GUA SHA
Moxibustion is a heat therapy used to generate both warmth and energy flow in the body. It is performed in a number of ways one of the most popular is done directly on the skin often on or near an acupuncture point. Moxibustion is both soothing and invigorating increasing energy and relaxation. Moxibustion is frequently performed with a dried herb called Ai Ye (mugwort leaf), it dispels pathogens from the body allowing healing and revitalization.
Cupping therapy is frequently used to address pain, inflammation and blood flow in the body. Cupping is performed for several minutes with small cups that create suction on the surface of the body. Cupping tends to cause bruising and discoloration as a result of broken blood vessels beneath the surface of the skin. Repeated cupping therapy treatments over a course of several weeks generally reduces the bruising response because blood flow is improved and stagnation reduced.
Gua Sha is a scraping therapy used with a tool that helps remove wind pathogens and blood stasis from the body. It can be effective for pain and stiffness relief and enhancing blood and energy flow caused by injury or invasion of wind or cold in the body. Gua Sha helps move coagulation in the tissue under the skin. Gua Sha has an anti-inflammatory effect and immune protective effect.
